Entrepreneurship Centers are Lost Research Opportunities for Business Schools

Research-orientated business schools are missing out big time.

While more and more universities are setting up their entrepreneurship centers – and social entrepreneurship centers. None of them have really developed a plan for systematically collecting data that can be used by researchers.

Ideally, any day now, some school will figure out what a lost opportunity this is and push their centers to not only be practical but to also extract copious amounts of data from both the students and enterprises they work with.

What would be even better would be to have the Kauffman foundation or some smart business school to organize a conference around creating a standardized survey that all the centers could use.

After a couple years that database could be full of great data on actual businesses and aspiring student entrepreneurs.
